Thompson is the award-winning, long-established British manufacturer of rotary and linear friction welding machines which are used by component makers around the world.

Based in the West Midlands, Thompson produces a renowned range of rotary machines, which are designed for friction welding a vast array of parts from small diameter components such as engine valves and electrical connectors to large API drill pipes and rods.

The flourishing company has also launched the world’s first commercially-available linear friction welding machine, the E100, which is the first model in a new range of linear equipment.

In addition, Thompson offers a sub-contract friction welding facility, widely believed to be the largest of its type in Europe.

As well as a UK headquarters in Halesowen, Thompson has offices in China and the United States as well as an international network of agents.

Thompson’s numerous accolades include a 2009 Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade and a silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award.
